The main causes of Leucoderma are said to Excessive mental worry, chronic gastric disorders and impaired hepatic function, worms and other Parasites in the alimentary canal, burn injury. Hereditary is also well recognized causative factors.

The problem usually starts with a small white spot which later develops in to patches. These patches are Pale in the begining but become whiter & whiter as time passes by due to loss of pigment. As the spot enlarge they merge into each other and in course of time form a very broad Patch.

Leucoderma is distressing skin condition. The word literally means white skin. There is a gradual loss of pigment melanin from the skin layer, which result in white Patches. The condition does not cause any organic harm.
